DAIMLER Trucks Shepparton has officially opened with a special ceremony attended by loyal customers, local dignitaries, senior Daimler Truck executives as well as the Daimler Trucks Shepparton team led by Tristar Truck and Bus head David Warren.

Daimler Truck Australia Pacific president and CEO Daniel Whitehead said the new Daimler Trucks Shepparton operation was “hugely positive for Daimler Truck given the success of the Tristar group’s Daimler Trucks Albury and Daimler Trucks Wagga dealerships and the importance of the greater Shepparton region.”

Tristar Truck and Bus announced late last year that it was opening Daimler Trucks Shepparton and Daimler Trucks Canberra as sales and support for Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Freightliner and Fuso trucks and buses.Tristar, a family-owned organisation headed up by David Warren, expanded its operations to include Shepparton and Canberra to add to Daimler Trucks Albury and Daimler Trucks Wagga Wagga which the business has operated since April 2020.

“Dave and the team have really gone above and beyond to create this new Shepparton dealership and expand their legendary service to a new group of customers in a critical hub for Australian trucking,” Mr Whitehead said.

“Daimler Trucks Albury was our Daimler Truck Dealer of the Year in 2022 for good reason. It has demonstrated incredible support for its customers day in and day out and we are so pleased that our Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner and Fuso customers in the greater Shepparton region can now also experience this.”

Guests at the official opening this week included Shepparton mayor Shane Sali; Northern Victoria MP Wendy Lovell; Shepparton MP Kim O’Keeffe; the head of Daimler Truck Overseas, Andreas von Wallfeld; the chief financial officer of Daimler Truck Overseas, Pierre Kriek; and Daimler Truck Australia Pacific president and CEO Daniel Whitehead.

While the dealership officially opened last week, it has been supporting customers since January 1 of this year.

Mr Warren thanked the Daimler Trucks Shepparton team for their hard work to set-up the new dealership in record time and was grateful to the customers who had welcomed the new operation.

“I’d like to express my sincere appreciation to our customers, who have been so supportive,” he said.

“Our promise to you is simple: We will provide exceptional customer service. But don’t take my word for it, give us the chance to demonstrate what we can achieve together.”

The Tristar group was recognised at the 2023 Daimler Truck Dealer of the Year awards last week, with three individual winners.

These included Mitchel Buckman from Daimler Trucks Albury, who was announced the Mercedes-Benz Trucks Rookie of the Year; Malik Rehman from Daimler Trucks Wagga, who was announced the Mercedes-Benz Trucks parts manager of the year; and John Herring from Daimler Trucks Albury, who was announced the Freightliner 2023 service manager of the year.
