NISSAN Australia is back on the court after extending its partnership with Australia’s largest female team sport, netball.

It has signed up for a further five years to sponsor Netball Australia, the organisation that supports the sport from grassroots to the elite level.

The partnership officially rolled over in January 2022 so the extra support means the sponsorship deal will continue to drive change both nationally with the Origin Australian Diamonds squad, but also at Suncorp Super Netball and community levels.

Nissan Australia said its relationship with Netball Australia has been a successful one over the first five years with overall brand awareness, affinity, and consideration experiencing year over year growth.

It said that harnessing the power of Australia’s biggest female team sport “offers visibility of Nissan’s impressive range of innovative vehicles, allows for further opportunities to strengthen community engagement, and builds brand awareness amongst key demographics.”

Nissan Australia managing director, Adam Paterson, said: “Since 2017, Nissan has been a proud supporter of netball in Australia.

“We are delighted to continue this partnership with Netball Australia, spanning all levels of the game from grassroots to international competition, for another five years.

“As the biggest female sport in Australia, our sponsorship is important to the significant netball community nationally, many who are our current and future customers.”

Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan was delighted to announce Nissan had recommitted for a further five years.

“In what is set to be a massive year for netball in Australia with the Commonwealth Games and our Suncorp Super Netball season, we are proud to continue our partnership with Nissan until at least the end of 2026,” Ms Ryan said.

“The support Nissan has shown across all levels of netball has been crucial in growing engagement and awareness around our sport, particularly in the Suncorp Super Netball League with the inception of Nissan Net Points.”

The sponsorship incorporates a range of entitlements including prominent Nissan branding on Diamonds bibs, as well as branding on and around the court throughout the Super Netball season.

To align with the investment in Queensland with the Nissan Arena, Nissan Australia will also be continuing its partnership with Netball Queensland and the Queensland Firebirds.

Nissan will also continue to work with Origin Australian Diamonds players Jo Weston, and Gretel Bueta as ambassadors for the brand.

Nissan is an active sponsor of elite Australian sport. It also supports Melbourne City Football Club (A League) and Hawthorn Football Club.
