NISSAN has awarded 13 technicians with the prestigious master technician status, with three from McRae Nissan in Wodonga and two each from Northside Nissan (WA) and Berwick Nissan in outer Melbourne.

The two from Northside – an AHG dealership north of Perth in WA – now bring the master technician count in its workshop to four, making it the only Nissan outlet in the state with this number of highly-skilled technicians.

Northside team members Josh Holder and Tak Cheng join Lorna Mountford and Michael Stein as master technicians.

Northside service manager Brad Smith said: “This is an amazing accomplishment, realised only with a large investment in staff and hard work from all members of the dealership”.

Technicians were assessed across seven different practical tasks as well as a 30-question theory exam.

Nissan Australia technical trainer Andy Inglis said all participants on the course acknowledged that it was a very challenging event, “which is appropriate for the Nissan Master Technician journey”.

Six of the new master technicians are from Victorian Nissan dealerships, three are from Queensland and two from WA.

The 2017 Nissan Master Technicians are:

Chris Dawson and Ben Swirski (Berwick Nissan, VIC); David Slade, Chris Maher and Luke Supple (McRae Nissan, VIC); Zacka Chan (Duncan Nissan, WA); Josh Holder and Tak Cheng (Northside Nissan, WA); Lincoln Stonestreet (Magic Nissan, WA); William Duncan (Moorooka Nissan, QLD); Hayden Ngametua (Springwood Nissan, QLD); Nathan Cunington (Village Nissan, QLD); and Callum Skeyhill (City Nissan, VIC).
