DELIVERY of a Morgan car can take up to seven years and cost north of $270,000 but you can now get a taste of the independent English car-maker almost immediately for as little as $24.

Morgan Motor Company this week announced it would introduce a new collection of Morgan ales to quench the thirst of the 30,000 annual visitors to the Malvern Link, Worcestershire factory.

The beverage is a collaboration between brewery Friday Beer Company, also in the main centre of Malvern, and the car-maker, and offers three Morgan Ales, each named after one of the car models.

The ales are the Morgan 4/4 Blonde Ale, the Morgan 3 Wheeler Dark Mild Ale, and a Morgan Aero 8 Rye Ale.

Morgan, the oldest privately-owned car-maker in the world with a start date of 1909, remains in the same family ownership. The Friday Beer Company is significantly younger, starting in 2011 by three scientists from the Malvern township.

In announcing the brew, Morgan and Friday Beer said they “would like to make clear that the official Morgan Ale is not to be consumed in any measure alongside driving, and is strictly only for over 18s”.

The start-grid for the beer is suggested to be the two-hour guided factory tour that will cost about $33. Bookings are essential.
