Called Porsche in Motion, it is an Australian concept from design to engineering and construction of the two mobile pods, which are towed by – of course – a pair of Porsche Cayenne S Diesels.

Each pod is a 10m-long pop-up showroom that expands from 3m high to 5m high on hydraulic rams. Within the pods are displays of Porsche’s heritage, performance philosophy and future sports car themes.

The pods have LED screens, virtual reality stations, sound and vision touchscreen consoles and Porsche driver’s selection display for a hands-on experience of the brand.

It is tied with the company’s new car range and potential customers have the opportunity to road test a new car and configure their own Porsche in the pod’s fitting lounge using the Porsche Car Configurator.

PCA CEO and managing director Sam Curtis said it was an exciting initiative for the brand.

“It enables us to share our brand with audiences not close to a Porsche showroom,” he said.

“The concept allows us to reach a new audience through an innovative and complete brand experience that features all the key elements of an official Porsche Centre; from the display of selected new models to heritage and brand touchpoints to discover the Porsche DNA.”

PCA held its first event at the Main Street Mornington Festival which it said was a great success. This event had an extensive fleet of modern and iconic Porsches on display and a special appearance from Porsche racing legend Jim Richards.

It now travels to Byron Bay next week and will be supported by staff from Porsche Centre Gold Coast.

The Porsche in Motion roadshow will visit the following locations before the end of 2017:

• Wednesday November 1 to Sunday November 5 at the Byron At Byron Resort & Spa
• Friday November 24 to Sunday December 10 at the Geelong Revival Motoring Festival
• Thursday December 7 to Sunday December 10 at the Newcastle Museum Forecourt.

The 2018 dates and locations will be announced later this year.
