While overall sales compared to June are, expectedly, down 1.1 per cent, Toyota and Ford managed to buck the trend and finish with a 3.7 and 20 per cent sales increase over the previous month.

Toyota came away with the July sales crown, selling 3427 Corolla small cars and 3136 HiLux workhorses to take out the number one and number two spots.

Of all the top 20 selling models of July, only the Hyundai Tuscon and Toyota LandCruiser Wagon saw an increase in sales compared to the previous month.
