QUEENSLAND-based electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure manufacturer Tritium DCFC Ltd has promoted its interim director of global operations, Glen Casey, to the position of chief operating officer.

Mr Casey, who has held the interim director role since May 2021, will now focus on global supply and distribution, operations and customer support services.

His appointment is part of the global expansion program that Brisbane-based Tritium – a developer and manufacturer of DC fast chargers for EVs – is now undergoing.

Mr Casey has more than two decades of executive experience across automotive, energy and engineering manufacturing.

Before joining Tritium, he held senior leadership roles in large, complex manufacturing businesses including Philips, Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) and Nylex Ltd where he was involved in major transformations and operational improvement in Australia, Asia and Europe.

At Nylex, he was CEO and managing director of the group and in charge of more than 40 manufacturing facilities, more than 6000 employees and sales of more than $A1.4 billion.

Tritium CEO Jane Turner said: “Tritium has a technology advantage with world-leading DC fast chargers and, in this challenged supply chain environment, we require an experienced operations leader with a proven track record who can successfully navigate manufacturing complexity and enable the Company to meet strong market demand.

“With Glen on board, we gain a leader who has been with the company for nearly a year and in that time hit production records.

“Glen has the knowledge and real-world experience to help Tritium globally scale our manufacturing operations and continue to optimise and mature those processes.”

Mr Casey holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Swinburne University of Technology.

He said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Tritium at such an exciting time for the company and industry.

“I believe the future of transportation is electric and Tritium has uniquely positioned itself for sustainable, global expansion and ascendancy.

“I look forward to working alongside the company’s impressive management, board of directors and staff to capitalise on the opportunities that lie ahead in this rapidly maturing e-mobility industry.”

Last month, Tritium joined President Biden at the White House to announce the company’s new US manufacturing facility in Lebanon, Tennessee, which is expected to employ more than 500 people over the next five years and produce more than 10,000 DC fast charger units per year, with the potential to produce approximately 30,000 units per year at peak capacity.
