BRAKE specialist TRW is on the lookout for Australian agents for its range after repositioning itself to capture a larger slice of the automotive components market.

TRW brake products are now available through ZF Services Australia after ZF in 2017 bought the brake specialist.

TRW components are sold through outlets including Repco and AAD but now a new sales and service program is starting that will roll out to selected agents throughout Australia. This will be backed by a new marketing campaign that includes TV promotions.

TRW business development manager Steve Borg told GoAutoNews Premium that he was looking for business partners to carry a range of products and support customers in market areas around the country.

The move will also allow businesses to carry lines from ZF brands including Sachs and suspension and steering component maker Lemforder.

The updated stock being carried by TRW today comprises more than $1 million of 14,000 brake pads and 14,700 discs.

Mr Borg said that TRW has developed a top-flight reputation around the world for its braking products that are fitted as original equipment on brands including Audi, Range Rover, Aston Martin and BMW.

“The expanded offering in Australia is already finding favour with local workshops,” he said.

“TRW’s intimate knowledge of the field results in braking components that not only show the way in terms of safety, but also for ease of installation by technicians.

“For instance, outside of product advancements that make TRW brake pads and rotors easier to fit, there is the fact that the new pads don’t require bedding in, while they also offer shorter braking distances when new.

“From a consumer’s perspective, TRW products offer long-lasting safety. With these credentials on board, it’s exciting to be a part of the brand’s invigoration in Australia.”

TRW, which works hand-in-hand with leading OEMs on cutting-edge brake systems, has been in the market for more than 100 years. It made the first wooden wheels for the Ford Model T in 1908.
