VOLVO Cars Australia (VCA) is undergoing a rapid expansion with its “retail experience” corporate identity reaching 27 sites, dealer ownership changes at three sites and the forthcoming opening of a new technical training centre.

VCA has recently completed 17 dealer sites under the brand’s Volvo Retail Experience identity, bringing its tally to 27 sales sites now in operation around the network.

Volvo spokesman Greg Bosnich said five existing sites – Parramatta (in Sydney’s west), Lindfield (in Sydney’s north), Brighton (Melbourne’s inner south), Gold Coast and Tamworth – were currently under construction in the changeover to the new corporate identity.

There were also three brand-new Volvo dealership sites being developed in Springwood in Brisbane’s south and Waverley and Berwick in Melbourne’s east and southeast.

Mr Bosnich said all Volvo sites are expected to be completed with the new CI and operate as fully compliant Volvo Retail Experience dealerships by June next year.

VCA has also reported some changes of the guard at three dealerships.

Autosports Group Ltd has sold its Volvo Cars Mt Gravatt in Brisbane to Autopact (Cricks Group) and has changed its name to Volvo Cars Springwood.

Autosports has also disposed of Volvo Cars Brighton (Victoria) with the name remaining the same but new owners in the Stillwell Motor Group. Stillwell also owns Volvo Cars South Yarra and Doncaster.

In NSW, the Wakeling Group has bought Volvo Cars Southern Highlands from Allan Mackay Autos. The dealership will retain its name.

The Southern Highlands business has been voted Volvo Cars’ rural dealership of the year in four consecutive years, the last in 2019. It has been operated by the Mackay family in Moss Vale for 30 years.

The Wakeling Group will retain the business name.

VCA has also announced that its new training centre, called the Volvo Technical Centre, is under construction and is expected to be open next month. The new complex is being built in Sydney and replaces an existing centre at VCA headquarters.

Mr Bosnich said this centre would deliver commercial, technical and apprentice training to all Volvo staff.
