VOLKSWAGEN Group Australia has appointed Andrew Huenerbein, a six-year veteran of its business, as the brand’s new head of network development. He replaces veteran David Stone, who left the industry last year.

Mr Huenerbein moves into the position following his role as VGA’s dealer representation and facility manager. Prior to this he was business development senior manager for MG Motor Australia and previously, sales operations manager for Hino Australia, responsible for sales strategies.

He said working in the network development side of the business was “inspiring” and that VGA has “one of, if not the best, dealer networks in Australia because of what it has had to go through, especially in terms of supply.”

Mr Huenerbein told the brand’s National Dealer Business Meeting held in Sydney last week that priorities for the coming 12 months include “EV preparedness” ahead of the brand’s array of 2024 electric vehicle releases, bringing corporate branding up to date, and introducing “evolutionary” changes to dealership interior design.

VGA’s previous network development manager, David Stone, left the company in October 2022 to embark on his motorsport passion with his new business, Eiger Racing.

IN HOUSE: Huenerbein moves from VGA’s dealer representation team to replace David Stone as head of network development.
