EBLEN Subaru Glenelg technician James Daly has been crowned the world’s best Subaru technician after winning the 2024 Subaru World Technician Competition.
It is the second consecutive year that Australia has claimed the top spot in this esteemed global contest. It is also the second consecutive year for the title to go to an Eblen Subaru technician.
Last year, Richard Fergusson secured the gold medal, making this an outstanding double win for the Eblen team.
The competition, held in Tokyo, gathered the top 13 Subaru technicians from 13 different countries with each vying for the coveted title through a series of rigorous challenges.
Participants faced tight time constraints and immense pressure as they diagnosed complex electrical and mechanical issues, showcasing their technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
Mr Daly’s success not only highlights his exceptional skills but also reflects Subaru Australia’s collective commitment to excellence in service and the brilliant talent present within the Subaru service network across the country.
Subaru Australia said that his passion and expertise shone brightly as he proudly represented Australia, embodying the dedication and professionalism of all Subaru technicians on the world stage.
Mr Daly said: “The competition was so tough. It’s been such a privilege and honour to compete here representing Australia and my dealership back home. Winning is a dream come true.
“I want to thank Subaru Corporation for hosting us in Japan this week as it’s been an incredible experience.
“Thanks for all the support as well, especially to my wife EJ who’s here with me, to Marc Grobler from Subaru Australia and the team back at my dealership, Eblen Subaru, for providing me with all the intensive training, advice and guidance that I needed to be able compete on this world stage and become world champion for 2024.”
