Summary

Daniel Gardner once thought that a 1976 Java Green Triumph Spitfire would make an ideal first car. He was wrong.

The endless evenings fixing it taught him a thing or two about cars though.

While studying for an honours degree in Mechanical Design, Daniel supported his 100-octane fuel habit by working as a BMW technician - a career that lead him from the UK to Melbourne.

After 10 years on the spanners Daniel hung up his overalls and pursued a career in the media writing an opinion column for mX as well as reviews for various automotive and fashion publications – not that you would know to look at him.

Daniel’s inane ranting can also be heard on community radio station JOY 94.9 where he hosts Monday’s breakfast show as well as co-presenting motoring show Fender Bender on Saturday afternoons.

Since the day Dan miraculously passed his driving test, many cars have passed through his garage.

All of them produced more power than the manufacturer intended and most of them ended up in a hedge. Daniel joined the GoAuto team in February 2013.
