FERRARI is more than a stylish car – it has been the preferred way to travel, and be seen travelling, by stylish men including Ralph Lauren, Mick Jagger, Roger Vadim, Peter Sellers and Clint Eastwood.

Now automotive style and menswear fashion combine in an exhibition presented by the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS) Centre for Fashion in Sydney and one that has attracted Ferrari as one of the event’s principal partners.

Ferrari Australasia CEO Herbert Appleroth said: “Art, design and tailoring are intrinsically linked in our brand’s heritage and Ferrari is proud to support this excellent and important exhibition celebrating men’s fashion and design.

Ferrari is a principal partner of the Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear 1715-2015 exhibition that opened at Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum this week and continues until October 14.

The exhibition comes from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and has some of the world’s most iconic menswear designers over 300 years.

Ferrari’s involvement includes a Ferrari car that reflects the company’s fashion core, and an atelier space where visitors can create their own Portofino model to give an insight into the process behind personalising one of the brand’s latest cars.

The exhibition also has more than 130 garments ranging from extravagant silks worn by 18th century aristocrats to the flawless tailoring of the 19th century right through to today’s internationally renowned fashion brands.

MAAS holds the nation’s most extensive collection of Australian fashion and comprises over 30,000 objects, from garments and fabric samples from the nation’s top fashion exports to patterns, sketches, accessories and fashion photography.
